ALERT****ALERT****ALERT****

I got an eMail from Joe & Bette just last night, checked out Winn-Dixie this morning, and can give you all the details now. Bette was talking to her sis-in-law, and got a sketchy heads-up which she passed on to me. I also found a non-car give-away, so let's get to it.

I almost passed it by, I always check the front, but it was on sale and I figured I could use the UPC. Then I saw the car on the side panel, but no other mention anywhere else on the box. I found it on a 20oz box of Frosted Flakes with Monsters, Inc on the front. "If this box screams, you win!" a bedroom full of monster furniture or a clock. On the side is a Monsters, Inc paint scheme of Terry Labonte's #5 Chevy. If you can go by the picture, there's Terry's signature, and Goodyear, but no race product decals. The paint is totally new, white base with blue and green abstract stripes, and the Monsters on the hood and peeking out in front of the rear wheelwell. The offer particulars:

2 UPCs from 10.9oz or larger and $1.99 (includes S&H) on official form before 11/30/02 or while supplies last.

Right now the wording is kinda funny, (and tells us when it will race) "...commemorating the #5 Kellogg's race car that 'screamed' around the track October 28, 2001 in Phoenix.". Well, the race hasn't been run yet - do they paint the backup car too? Hope we won't find out, even though we're told it already happened!

Pop-Secret CD

You get to play with this for a month before the race. It's an inter-active CD for the Pop-Secret 400 at "The Rock" North Carolina Speedway on Nov. 4. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but this is what it says:

first off - system requirements - Pentium II, 233 mhz, 32 MB RAM, Windows 98 or later, sound card and of course a CD. Mine is only a plain old Pentium I - 233, so I'll let you know how that works. Contains: Driver Profiles, Race Highlights, Tracks, Features, and Great Moments. I'll update you as I play with it.

Just In!

Joe and Bette are on their toes! I need to get some clarification, but it looks like Dura-Lube has a new car in their packaged car care kit. It's pricey, unless you're gonna use the products, about $20.00, but it's included. I've been in contact with Dura-Lube, they don't currently sponsor a car. They told me they were coming out with a generic car, but they didn't give me any specifics. I'm trying to get a little more info, and I'll pass it on as I find out.

Keep your eyes peeled - they're out there!
