Hershey's Harvick
By the way, it was just the timing belt, the wife's car is back on the road.
Thanks to those of you that asked.
I mentioned that the Mrs. Smith's car is correct for the season and not just last year's model.
I'm afraid not so for all those M&M's and #36 cars; sorta.
While I was researching those cars for my latest article (Oct DCD), I noticed that the paint was right for 2002, but the nose was wrong.
I thought at first that it was just a bad scale measurement on behalf of Racing Champions.
After writing a couple of eMails, it dawned on me to double-check the 2001 paint job.
Sure enough, Yellow was on the driver side last year, and Red is this year, but the body was different!
Then I checked out Wal-Mart, and all the RC Pontiacs had last year's nose.
I couldn't find any Hot Wheels Pontiacs, but the Winner's Circle cars did have the right nose!
Now, I just have to get to my favorite DieCast store to check out the high-end cars and see if the owner noticed the same thing.
The worse news is the Pedigree paint job is almost identical between this year and last.
The Promo has the Homeward Bound sticker and so did last years car, this year's didn't, so that car is definitely a left over.
