Odds & Ends
Tim from Okeana, Ohio told me about a Promo from the Civil Air Patrol. He wrote: "I just got in the mail the free Civil Air Patrol race team gift bag you get if you mention you saw their ad in the 2002 NASCAR press guide which includes a cap, sticker, & t-shirt. Driver Ashton Lewis' site is taking pre-orders for DieCasts of his Civil Air Patrol car that will be out soon." One thing Tim, do you have a phone number or website?
JHome was one of the first to tell me about the new Old Spice Endurance Deodorant and cologne set with a (now Champion) Tony Stewart car. He saw it in a CVS Pharmacy (but others report K-Mart) and said "This is not as nice a set as last years, but I will still buy it." He also got a super great deal! In his words "My daughter was in a K-Mart store near Boston, MA, and they had the #36 cars next to the candy bars. She asked the young man checking her out how much they were. He said he did not know, but if she bought the candy bars at a price of 3 for $1.00 she could have 3 cars for free." I had to buy 12 candy bars at that price just to get one, and I'm sure most of you did too. Speaking of M&M's and the #36 car, ProMoCo found this: "M&M is having a closeout sale on the #36 diecast cars and other selected merchandise in the Turn Packs Into Points mail-in offer. See http://p2p.mms.com/p2p/merch.html.
The 1/64 car now requires only 2 points (was 20 points). The 1/24 car is now only 5 points (was 75 points). The M&M racing team hat is now only 10 points (was 100 points)." The Shipping & Handling charges are still the same, but now I can get a couple of spare cars and a hat!
And speaking of candy, Jerry from Illinois sent this heads-up: "On the Hershey's website I saw where Harvick is gonna race Busch again next year, and Payday is gonna sponsor the car. So I contacted their Public Relations and was told the NEW promotion starts in January. I was given a number to call then, so start saving them UPCs again!" Now we have to find out if only Paydays count, or any Hershey candy.
More Chocolaty news. Jerry again sent me this news. "I looked at the Nesquik site yesterday! You can get the 2001 1/64th blister pack at Nestle (Nesquik Racing), go to 2001 closeouts. It's $2.50 and 3.00 s&h with a downloadable order form at the bottom of page." Of course, that makes this an Exclusive since you don't need any UPCs.
Clif sent me a complete (?) listing of Nesquik/Nestea cars. "All were PoP Mail In offers and all were 1/64:
| Year | Promo | Car | Pkg | Driver |
| 2000 | Nestea | Hot Wheels | baggie | Green |
| Nesquik | Hot Wheels | blister | Green | |
| 2001 | Nestea | Team Caliber | box | Green |
| Nesquik | Hot Wheels | blister | Green | |
