Kellogg's Revenge

While IronIce was looking in K-Mart for the Old Spice Promo (if you haven't found it yet, check Target), he ran across "yet another offer from Kellogg's. This is a three car set of Kellogg's Mini Racers. Pictured on the box are the 1998 Marshmallow Blasted Froot Loops car, the 1999 Cherry Berry Swirls Froot Loops car, and the Current regular blue and orange Tony the Tiger paint scheme car. I found this offer on a box of Froot Loops with Melonberry Pink. The set will cost $4.99 and needs one UPC from Froot Loops. He even called Kellogg's customer service to find out if the set was going to be in a blister pack like they used to be when Garner and Nevins (now Summit Int.) was Kellogg's marketer, or if they were going to be another disappointing set of plastic bag cars. They did not have any info yet and told him to call back in a week or so for new info."

He sent me some follow up info: "The two Froot Loop paint schemes are old. The Blasted Froot Loops paint was run on June 14, 1998 at Michigan Speedway. The Cherry Berry Swirl paint was run in either 1999 or 2000. As far as I know Kellogg's didn't have a promo for the Cherry Car. He has 27 promotional Terry Labonte cars from Kellogg's since 1996 and has not seen this three car set yet."

Clif found this first, but gave me these years: "Blasted Froot Loops (1998), Cherry Berry (2000) and this year's regular paint job. He also sent me a couple of web sites that frequently have very neat promo cars: www.diecastdeals .com and www.buschracingcollectibles.com."

If that wasn't enough! Clif found this one a few days later, "another Kellogg's PoP mail in offer. This is on specially marked boxes of Corn Flakes, Frosted Flakes, Raisin Bran, & Frosted Mini-Wheats. The offer is for a car and hauler set, 4 different Kendrick Racing sets, Lowes, Regular Kellogg's, Dupont, and Kellogg's Got Milk. Each requires two box tops (not UPC's) and cash register receipts for two gallons of milk-any brand-and $9.99. Unfortunately you are limited to one set per certificate (you can't get all four at the same time)."

An exclusive he found is "Frank Kimmel's Advance Auto Parts 1/64 blister diecast available at www.frankkimmel.com. It is by Racing Champions and costs $5.00."

He noticed on ebay an auction for a Jeff Burton 1/64 Gain Team Caliber diecast. It is packaged like a promo piece but he hasn't seen an offer for this anywhere. I've heard another rumor, but haven't found a Promo either. Anyone else find or see anything?

I just want to take a second to wish You and Yours a Blessed Holiday. I'm sorry I missed Chanukah this year because it was so early. I don't like what this time has become, all commercial and stress. I don't believe Jesus was born on December 25th, and they've replaced Christ with an X, but at least we still celebrate His Birthday. Even if they take the Reason, totally out of the season, we should celebrate His Birth everyday. They'd have to change the numbering of the years to totally remove Jesus from our heritage, they can remove prayer and the Ten Commandments, but the year one was the year our Lord was born, and most of the world acknowledges that!

Keep your eyes peeled - they're out there!
