ALERT****ALERT****ALERT****

Good news, I mentioned that Jaquita in East Texas found a Bayer Car. Well, I found a display and product with three! Interestingly, the display says "collect all three", and I got the yellow Bayer on Aspirin, blue Aleve on Aleve and blue w/bubbles Morning Relief on regular Alka-Seltzer. The three nice display boxes are identical on the outside, and they say, "Collect all four". I sent an eMail to the B.A.C.E. people to get a clarification. The packaging is a nice upgrade from the previous 2 years. Last year (10th Anniversary) was an upgrade from the year before, but this is a bigger step up. Check out the pictures on the Packaging Page at http://scalecarpromo.bravepages.com/pkgpics.htm

More Good News, I got stuff from Kellogg's! The rumors that the Transporter was 1/87th scale, or at least smaller than 1/64th, are false! The Trailer is just as long as the "almost absolutely" free Tony the Tiger rig from 2001. The Tractor is also just as nice, lots of chrome, running lights, and real painted on graphics - I haven't gotten the car yet - I hate how they ship those separate. I got the "Got Milk?" set first; I'll update you on the car after I get it.

Bad News, Jerry's fears came true; as soon as I saw the small box, I knew the Kellogg's Froot Loops 3 car set came in baggies. They are hood open cars, but that's not saying much. The "hinges" are different, but the "engine" is the same as the 2001 Mini-Wheats. They are the same mixture of tampo graphics and clear backed stickers. Pictures are posted on the Packaging Page too. Speaking of pictures, that page should help you locate boxes, if you're like me, pictures help! I've got the GM packaging I've found so far, the Bayer Display and packaging and even the Eagle One boxes.

More, slightly Bad News, not much new to report on the GM dozen (or is it 11). ProMoCo noticed that the tires no longer have Goodyear #1 Eagle in yellow.

This brings me to the "bad" news. I've lost some readers, and I'm sure many of you don't go to the Web Site because of all the Pop-Up Ads. It's even driving me crazy - I have to go there to check things out and make sure things uploaded OK and work as planned. I wanted to keep the Alerts free, but if I pay them money, they take the Pop-Up Ads away. I was thinking of making it voluntary, but that would cause me alot of extra work, and I don't know if I'd be able to pay my ISP bill every month - so here's my idea. If mostly everybody sends in a $5 bill, I'll be able to cover expenses, and we can upgrade the site further (let me know if y'all are interested in new features like Voting/Polls, Cartoons, Message Forum, even News and Greeting Cards!). I hope you keep tabs on the Swap/Meet site, I know some of you have used it to trade and post messages. I hope a couple of you got lucky and responded to Slavik's ad for the couple extra Stanley Tape Measure Promos (if not, hurry, he was going to return them if no one was interested).

My idea is still voluntary, but you will get a "value-added" service. Those who donate $5 per year will get the full Alert text as usual, plus links to pictures when available, and I'll throw in the text of my Promo Pro articles each month. If you still want free, you will get a Notice that a new Alert was sent out, then you'll have to wait until I can get the Alert converted to a webpage - I've been lazy lately, and it's taken about a month, but I'll try to keep it down to a week in the future. Some of you have donated cars and cash out of the goodness of your hearts, and that will get you a couple of years of "value-added" service. A couple have sent money in for Snail Mail service, and recently got eMail, that's good for a year too. This isn't a way to make lots of money, there aren't millions of you, and I'm not expecting everybody to sign up - it's just a way to give you a better service and keep you informed about those Promotions! Now that my collection is organized and cataloged, I will start adding pictures and close-ups of past Promos too. I hope I don't offend any of you, there's still the free option, but if you'd like to send in your $5, regular currency in a folded piece of paper (I'd rather not deal with checks or money orders - it's only five bucks!) WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS ON IT, (please don't forget your eMail!) to my regular address:

Guido Roth 13401-9 Summerlin Rd #184 Ft Myers, FL 33919-6953

I will keep them unopened until I get at least fifty - that way if my idea doesn't fly, I'll get a "Return to Sender" stamp, and you'll get your $5 back - but you'll get those pesky Pop-Up Ads back too - so...

Keep your eyes peeled - they're out there!
